I didn’t Turn

Original issueThe Heartbeat of The Remnant · November/December 2000 · Volume 6 · Number 5
A plow standing in a furrowed field with a farmhouse in the distance.

Look back? - What sorrow for the soul
Who turns from God who made him whole
Who turns from Christ’s own holiness
To lead a life of wretchedness.

Look back? - ah no - that cannot be
My child the world is past for thee
The pleasures, friends of yesterday
Are left behind upon My way.

Look back? - on sin, depravity?
Take heed my child, I cry to thee
‘Tis forward into victory
If you would only follow Me.

“Look back? oh no - when all is done
And I the crown at last hath won
T’will be my joy to testify
I didn’t turn, my God deny.”
