Look back? \- What sorrow for the soul
Who turns from God who made him whole
Who turns from Christ’s own holiness
To lead a life of wretchedness\.

Look back? \- ah no \- that cannot be
My child the world is past for thee
The pleasures, friends of yesterday
Are left behind upon My way\.

Look back? \- on sin, depravity?
Take heed my child, I cry to thee
‘Tis forward into victory
If you would only follow Me\.

“Look back? oh no \- when all is done
And I the crown at last hath won
T’will be my joy to testify
I didn’t turn, my God deny\.”
