A woman came to Jacob’s well, some water there to draw.
She did not know that Christ would be there. He said, “Give me to drink,”
for He was thirsty too, from traveling this weary way.
The woman was surprised. She said, “How can this be,
that you would ask for water from me? I know that you’re a Jew;
I’m from Samaria, and Jews have never dealt with us.”
Jesus answered unto her, “If you’d know the gift of God,
And who it is that’s asking of thee, Thou would’st have asked of Him,
and He’d have given thee, This living water pure and free.”
“My water springeth up, into everlasting life,
And tho’ your sins are many we know I’ve come to give you life.
Just come to me and bow; worship in spirit and in truth.”
Dear friend, Oh won’t you come to Jesus and be free,
of all your many sins and your guilt? The water and the blood fl
flows free from Jesus’ side. Oh, drink and you will be set free.”
Living water pure and free Jesus said, “I’ll give to thee, If you will ask for water from me.”

This song was birthed one Sunday morning when Timothy went to do his chores in the barn, praying and meditating and seeking direction for his life. When he returned to the house singing this song, his wife asked him, “Who taught you that song?” “It was the Lord,” was his answer.
