I’ll walk with God—Today—  
 Tomorrow may not be\.  
 I’ll make the best of TIME—right now—  
 That God has granted me\.

I’ll plan not for a life  
 That I might live in ease,  
 But only for today to live  
 My God alone to please\.

Nor dare I think in years  
 Or move from leaps to bounds;  
 With God shut out, and self shut in  
 And selfish aims surround\.

There are those who plan their lives,  
 Who give God little thought;  
 Who weigh themselves, not with God’s truth,  
 As every day they ought\!

“Boast not thyself,” I’m warned,  
 “Of what tomorrow brings;  
 Thy health and wealth—e’en life itself—  
 May all at once take wings\!”

“This night, that soul of thine  
 May be required of thee:  
 And dost thou plan the New Year full  
 There, ‘neath some Christmas tree?”

“Wake up\! Take stock, are you prepared?  
 Your lessons learned alright?  
 If God, in yet three hours, THIS DAY,  
 Should close your course TONIGHT?”
