# What Do You See?

When you, my friend, are standing on this earth  
 And gazing up into the firmament  
 Where stretches all of space, what do you see?  
 A great black blanket stretched o’er all the sky  
 With many a mystery light somewhere up there?  
 Or can you see the distances so great  
 Which stretch the mind almost to breaking point  
 And make you feel the size you really are?  
 In the still silence of the spacious sky,  
 The far\-off planets seem almost in reach  
 Compared to the great distance to the stars\.  
 The crescent moon is closer yet to you,  
 And yet it took man three whole days to reach  
 That tiny sphere so very close at hand\.  
 But what you see while gazing up to heights  
 Which you cannot begin to comprehend  
 Is but a streak of all the vast expanse  
 Beyond the knowledge of this human race\.  
 And so, my friend, I hope that you will feel  
 That greatness, vastness, emptiness of space  
 Which our Creator made for us so we  
 Can feel His greatness and His tender love  
 And humbly bow our heads and worship Him\.
