The night was still, the air was drear\.
A man walked alone; his direction unclear\.
A battle raged within his troubled soul\.
He was at the crossroads, all his life as a whole\.
He believed in God, or at least so he thought\.
He obeyed what he knew—all that he’d been taught\.
But something’s not right, there’s something I lack\.
I’ve lived like most others, as my life plays back\.
But I go to church\! I sing and I pray\!
I even helped the neighbor, just the other day\!
He fought with his mind, justifying the wrong\.
It was God that was working, He seemed quite strong\.
*The fact of the matter, it’s confidence I lack\.*
*I believe in myself, not the God from way back\.*
God wants to show strong, in my life every day\.
He wants me to be proved; He’s the Life and the Way\.
There’s no better One, in Whom to put all your trust;
Than the almighty God\. For all men it’s a must\!
