[The Heartbeat of the Remnant, Winter 2021]()
Sometimes my heart is heavy,
Weighted with fears and care\.
It’s then my Lord calls out to me,
“Come My child, your burden I’ll bear\.”
Sometimes questions flood my mind,
The answers seem evasive and trying\.
That’s when I lift these eyes to my God,
Claiming His love on me overlying\.
Sometimes I feel like quitting,
The way before me seems long and hard\.
But I think of the path of my Shepherd,
It was for me He was scarred\.
Sometimes my mind is clouded,
I stumble with each step that I take\.
Yet out of the fog, I hear a whisper,
“You are Mine, trust Me, a way I will make\.”
Sometimes I find my circumstances,
Seemingly harsh, and unfair\.
But then my Father whispers,
“Dear one, do not despair\.”
Sometimes I feel all alone,
The ache within chokes and burns\.
The Master speaks, “My chosen one,
I alone can fulfill, that for which your heart yearns\.
Sometimes my eyes are full of tears
My heart feels near to burst\.
And then my Savior reminds me,
This path, before me, He traversed\.
Sometimes I worry and wonder,
How things will ever turn out right\.
Yet the promise remains, all works out well,
For him that in God does delight\.
Sometimes the future seems scary,
Not at all like what I had hoped\.
Still, I set my eyes on His ultimate goal,
Knowing it’s better than for what I had groped\.
Sometimes I feel left behind,
While others lives go on so free\.
But, in my Father’s plans I will trust,
And look forward to His eternal jubilee\!
Sometimes I find myself dreaming,
Of the future in heaven to come\.
Oh what bliss will be the feeling,
To hear those words, “Well done\.”
